Its slightly tan as the base color. More white than beige. In terms of pet friendly, it is a heavy rug so it would not be easy to tear. But a cat cratching any rug enough would cause some damage!

My biggest concern is ordering it and it not being the right color or material...its not available in any stores for me to go see and feel...

I know its hard, they have very few stores. Go onto the web site and take a look, look at the fabric weight, etc. They also will return it if it doesn't work!

Would this rug work with furniture that is dark gray, a little silver and black in the living room? I hope. I really love it.

The walls are almost a greenish color (looks a little different in different light). I am attaching a couple of pics that hopefully give you an idea. The wall is really a little darker than what is shown in the pic. thanks so much for your advice
