Been a long time since I've posted! Well, I found out what NOT to do! I placed my pots on a wide porch rail under a crypt myrtle tree and weeks later all my orchids had the soot from aphids that were under the leaves of the myrtle! So I brought in one den that has a spike ready to open and went to cleaning! I tried all kinds of things. Weakened lemon juice, weakened vinegar, weakened dish soap and mayo. Then I tried baking soda in water. I had a baby's tooth brush and cleaned it good and gently brushed the yuck off the leaves with the only thing that worked best was the weakened dish soap. Now I will see how good the leaves stand up to a light scrubbing! I have before and after pics. but forgot how to post them.
