Pressure spray bottle

i think there isnt enough humidity for my orchids to flower. the roots that grow out of the potting medium tend to dry up. i was thinking of spraying the orchid with water with a pressure spray bottle. maybe one that looks like this

Does anyone know where to get one like that? maybe one with a clear bottle?

Here is a link that might be useful:

I would go to Home Depot, they have that specific one I think. The liquid cast enough of a shadow that it is no problem knowing how much is left.

Yup, go to the garden supplies section at Home Depot or Lowe's or any other major home improvement store and they carry these products with different bottle sizes.

Just make sure you inspect the item and all parts are there. Some people think they are being cute and remove the nozzles from the bottles. The unsuspecting buyer would then end up taking home the bottle without a nozzle and have no way of controlling the output velocity and shape of the spray.

I've owned a pressure sprayer like the one linked, actually a couple of them. They don't last long, and are a pain to keep pumping to add pressure. If you have a collection of any size, I wouldn't recommend this one. Get the two-gallon size that's sold for mixing/applying RoundUp. It's high-quality, and easier to use despite its larger capacity. WalMart sells them for about $17 last time I checked.

I have the one gallon size. The only thing is that about once a year I take it apart and apply vasoline to the pump.

A gallon of water weighs 9 pounds. I would rather refill than lug 2 gallons of water around.

I use the one gallon size to apply fertilizer to mounts, it is easy to deal with and doesn't need to be filled every day. I use the 1/2 gal size to apply fungicide and insecticide to new plants I bring home.

I haven't used the size in question for years - too many orchids to deal with makes it a PITA.

Just thought I'd add that even though the one I recommend has a two-gallon capacity, doesn't mean that you have to FILL it with two gallons. Because of its larger interior capacity, a few pumps provides longer-lasting pressure than a smaller container would.

I also take the pumps apart to apply vaseline, although that only works a couple of times. I just ordered three extra pumps from the manufacturer, and they were $6.25 each. With fairly heavy use, they last about two years or so.

Check out Kelley's Korner Orchid Supplies in Maine.
I purchased a spray bottle from them that works magnificently. I'm quite sure you might be able to get one closer to home. The name of the product is: Polyspray2 Sprayer. Hope this helps.

I was in a pinch yesterday and used my eye spray! It is in a small aerosol/atomizer bottle similar to the evian sprays popular a few years ago. It is called "Nature's Mist" & it is pure H2O. Only thing is - it's expensive. But I loved the ease of use & the super fine mist it gives.

So now I'm looking for something just like this - but more affordable. Any ideas? I checked out the Polyspray 2 Sprayer - does the water emit in a fine mist?

    Thanks!
