Since you're in Florida, I'm going to guess a crape myrtle (Lagerstroemia).

It's a guess only because the photo is quite small. Any chane you have or can take a closeup of the flowers.

Joe

I would love to but I can't figure out how to attach a second picture and I don't want to start a new posting. The tree has small white flowers and little yellow things sticking out in bunches by the flowers. I'm going to try and figure out how to attach another picture.

I've put the pictures up on flickr so please take a look

Lagerstroemia still the one to go with.

I'm not happy with Lagestromia (crepe Myrtle). Cupcakegrl, though, nice touch parking the red bicycle undertneath it. Can you get a clearer picture of the flower? My crepe Myrtles - now that it's winter here, in zone 10 - are completely bare of all foliage (Crepe myrtles prefer warm temperate to sub-tropical climes). The flowers of lagerstomea do look crepeish, you know. Not sure the flowers in your pic. do, would like a close up. 'Photobucket' and a digital camera can help there.

I just took some closer pictures of the flowers and posted them on flickr and attached the link below. I'm glad you liked the red bicycle..it's very dutch I think.

It doesn't look like a typical Lagerstroemia indica or Lagerstroemia hybrid.

But it does look very much like Lagerstroemia speciosa or L. fauriei, both easily found in Florida gardens.

Yes, the bike and the tree and the white flowers, nice contrast. Flowers certainly do look like crepe myrtle (Lagerstroemia) species. I'll go along with Joe's conclusion.
