Sorry, to hear about your seeds. I started some seeds first part of March going by this website:

and so far so good. If you can get somemore seeds you might want to try seeding them this way.

Mine are now planted in milk jugs with about 3 inches of dirt and 2 inches of water. They are sitting in the window on a heating pad turn on low. Hopefully come May I will plant them in there own planters outside near the pond. Good Luck!

Cracking the shell? I scored mine according to Victoria-Adventures.org. I started three last May and they came back this year.

I have a couple of lotus seeds that I was going to start, however I decided against it only because my son gave to me some of the Gamecock Iris for my birthday earlier this month. I am going to put these iris where I was going to put the lotus.
