If it is infront of the sun, i would shield it a little.

sunburn. The plant looks healthy. Reduce the the amount of direct light. The leaf will not repair itself. But it can still grow and flower.

Mine get early AM sun only and high indirect light for the rest of the day. I keep them out of afternoon sun.
A little chill in the air (lows at night in the mid 50's) and shorter days will induce flowering. Reduce watering a little when you chill them. Avoid artificial light if possible. They should respond in about 10 days to two weeks by spiking.

Looks like sunburn. Otherwise, the plant looks good!

Sunburn was what I was thinking because I have it placed in the front of all my plant in a south facing window.

Should I remove the leaf from the plant now?

Leave the leaf alone. It still benefits the plant. Move the plant to reduce the light...

I wanted to know if I should repot the plant since this is the pot I got it in from the garden center. Also, the moss it is planted in seems to hold water long. How often do I need to water the plant as well as how often do I use fertilizer?

Thanks for the help. I would like to see if I can grow these as I hear they are not easy to grow. I think my wife will love the flowers. If I can get them to grow.

I would leave it in the moss until it needs to be repotted. Moss is not a bad potting medium if you do some things correctly. Water when the top of the moss seems to be just slightly moist. Use bottled or distilled water and very little fertilizer. The moss becomes a sponge to fertilizer minerals and will eventually burn everything. Phalaenopsis will bloom when night temps drop by 15-20 degrees. I would keep it as warm as possible through winter and in spring let it get cool and flower for you. It needs that drop in temperature for at least two weeks.

Or sit it by an open window in the evenings now (for the 15-20 degree temp drop from day/night) for 2-4 weeks and you may get flowers this late winter or early next spring. About 1/2 of my hybrid phals have started spikes, the rest should start spiking in the next month or so.

I'm new to orchids too but some people do cut off parts of leaves I've seen that. I think you might need to clean the thing with alcohol or something afterward as it could cause rot or disease or bugs. I know some experts do cut them if there's a problem.

I'm with Matt on this one. A plant that is stressed shouldn't be repotted. Your plant doesn't look too stressed (new leaf is a good sign), but I would still wait until Spring to repot.
