The correct name is Arachnis flos-aeris 'Gracilis' and it is a species orchid from South East Asia. Maybe you would be better off tying it securely to the Eastern side of an appropriate rough barked tree....but then again, you do not have a tree.
Try putting it into the basket. The literature saying that it likes to climb, so maybe provide a tree-fern totem pole or failing that see if it like to trail. Good Luck.

I have the Arachnis limax, it grows like crazy but seems very difficult to reflower. Very easy to propagate from cuttings and grows rampant up into trees, some of mine getting up to 7 - 8 metres above the ground. Arachnis generally like full sun, high humidity and warm to hot all year.

I understand also from a lot of folks around here who have it in their garden that I have bought an orchid that runs up a tree like crazy and grows into a monster.
I think I will put it in a basket and when it lgrows big I will put it in another bigger basket. Maybe I can hang it in one of the trees out in the cypress in front of the property.
