Let me try to help you.it look to me as if it was going to bloom but change its mind.the very top part is brow which means it was done growing but if it was going to spike it would remain green.sometimes dens send two spikes from the same location so it would have probely sent a spike from another location say under the top leaf, or even in this same location off center.i am sorry you had an accident, hopefully your den will grow a new cane and flower from it.i hope you took precautionary measures and dust the broken end with cinnamon, this helps to prevent infection.you could also place your plant in a ceramic outer pot to help it not turn over so easily next time.good luckðÂÂÂ.
