Does look like Japanese Cedar (Crytomeria japonica). There are different cultivars with different growth characteristics so do a bit of research before buying. Hardy to zones 6-7 that are fairly wet. We have lots of healthy specimens grown locally here in NJ. Not viewed as a problem tree as far as I know.
