Deep color of thyme

Is there a specific variety of creeping thyme that will produce the deep purple/lavender shown in the stone walkway to beach? If so, so you know where I could find the seed? What I have found so far is much paler. Thank you, Carolyn

    There are sedum spectiblis, galliardia, Siberian iris, miscanthus gracillis, lavender hidcote, and iberis sempervirens.

      Hi Carolyn,

      This is standard Thymus serphyllum, red mother of thyme. It may be the conditions that give it the deep purple color, or the maturity of the plants. I notice it gets darker in color each year.

      Yes, Thymus serphyllum would have no problems in this zone. The others with the exception of possibly the Rosemary would also grow there as well.
