Re-doing a Stream

I am going to remove all the stone and liner from one of my streams--40' long, 3' wide, 8-10" deep. 5' drop.

My plan was for a 2' wide stream and I bought a roll of 5.5' wide liner. The contractor I hired and fired dug the 3' wide stream. Installing that liner took some innovation and left me no slack. Actually, all was well until I added more water flow and the water found its way under the liner and out the banks.

I will leave the stream bed and banks as is, except for touching up, leveling, etc. I have ordered a 10' wide liner and that will be that for leaks--I hope.

This is going to be a hard job with lots of heavy stones, installing an unwieldy liner. Any tips, cautions, experiences are really appreciated so I don't make too many mistakes.

Thanks in advance - Mike
