Hi I have been lurking around this site for a long time and I have seen some wonderful advice on here. I wanted to see what you think about my poor fish. I got most of them a few weeks ago. I noticed the day I brought them home that one of them had a small red spot on its side. The spot is now very sore looking and he now has more of them on the same side. I also noticed that there are a few more fish that have gotten these sores. I did a little research and read about ulcers on goldfish. I ordered some stuff to put in my pond to treat the water, but before I use it I want to make sure that these are ulcers. I am going to try and post a picture so that you can see it. I hope you can see them okay. My camera doesn't work that well and the fish move so fast that it is hard to get a good picture of them.
A few sites mentioned using some kind of scrub on them, but I don't think that will be an option for me. I have tried to catch one of these fish and they are just way to fast for me. The stuff I ordered is called melafix and I think the other one was pimafix.
I noticed today that there is a white spot in the middle of one of the sores. Does this mean he is healing on his own?
I have checked the amonia and ph levels. The amonia level was 0 and the ph was 6.8
Thanks for any help you can give me. I am really worried about them.
