Perhaps good Phal. conditions are too warm for this orchid. Just guessing, I grow and flower Neofinetia flacata in conditions that are unsuitable for Phalaenopsis.

How so, Arthur? Just curious.

Sedirea needs more light than phals and tend to like slightly cooler temps. Try increasing the amount of light it gets.

Neofinetia falcata comes from the same general area of the world as Sederia japonica hence my comment.
If i had one I would try and grow it in here which is a Phalaenopsis death zone.

Everything I've read about these is that they like cooler temps and higher humidity, with a cool, dry rest in the winter. I just got one last month, and I'm keeping it in a west-facing window, where the temp goes between 50-65. Since I don't have a humidifier running, I've set the tiny pot in a glass box full of live moss. I mist the moss around the pot daily to keep the humidity high without overwatering the plant. So far, so good. We'll see if it will flower when the weather warms up.

Someone in another thread said they prefer to be mounted. I'm afraid to do it because of how dry my place is.

The low in winter gets to about 5C. Most mins in winter range 7 to12c before the heater comes on and warms the glass-house up a bit before the sun gets up.

There is all this tropical stuff that is fine if you are trying to grow Phals. Not so good for orchids that "rest" during winter.

My small collection of Phals spend the year indoors in this room on top of the heated tropical fish tank.

No nice central heating here.
