smartpond filter

Today I installed a smartpond (Lowes) pressurized pond filter. It can be used in or out of the water and I would prefer in. I can't get it to sink. Any help?

Try holding it down in the water until all the air comes out of it and also the hose running into it. They tend to trap air inside at first and you have to get it out.

Thanks, we got out as much as we could. I just put a flat rock on it and I think it will settle eventually.
