This is going to sound really weird, but can someone describe to me what heron droppings look like? I found some unidentified droppings on a rock right at the edge of my pond. It did not look like typical bird droppings, more like that of a very small mammal. The only animal in the yard is my cat, and even though she's an outside cat (she beats up our other cats) she uses her littler box on the porch, and even if she didn't she always covers up her "job". She loves being outdoors, by the way. All fish are present and accounted for, and not any more skittish than usual.

I have a six foot privacy fence with a cat barrier around the top to keep Smoky in and other cats out. A link showing the fence is below. Smoky has not made an escape since installing it. The net is held flush against the fence with metal disks. I know a racoon could break through it, but the netting is in place and undamaged, and it's not sagging as if something heavy had tried to climb it.

So, I come back to my original question: What does heron droppings look like?
