Too much brick.

I have a tudor style home with brick-facing and brick paths & porches.
We've removed the strip of grass between sidewalk & street, and want to conserve water by paving it. What materials go well with brick? We've tried bark, but the neighborhood dogs go wild with it, and it has to be swept up multiple times daily. Any suggestions?

Do you need to walk on it or is it a decorative area? I would suggest a nice ground cover that doesn't require a lot of watering. Check with your local plant nursery for something appropriate for your area. I don't think you need any more paving.

It's the area between sidewalk & street. It isn't watered. My problem is: anything loose, even gravel, will be kicked out by dogs onto the sidewalk and even clogs the opening to the sewer, which leads to the ocean. If not for the mess, the bark is a good choice.
