In the past several years I have started all kinds of plants by seeds with what I would consider good success. This year I decided to try numerous heirloom varieties of tomatoes, peppers, watermelon, etc. It is my first time with heirlooms. Anyway, I have had a hard time getting the heirloom seeds to germinate. I've had about a 15% germination rate. Are heirloom seeds harder to germinate or is there something I'm missing?
