Of the ones listed, tomatoes are the fastest growers. Peppers are quite slow as is parsley. But real, noticeable growth rate only kicks in - you know where you can almost see them growing ;) - once in their natural environment. Slow steady growth is what is desirable for transplants so that the root development can keep up with the top growth.

Once the second set of true leaves develop a very mild (1/4 strength) dose of a well balanced fertilizer will help give them a boost.

How long have the peppers been growing?

Once sprouted they seem to take a week to 2 weeks for true leaves to emerge.
I have mine under shoplights that supplement light from a South facing window.

Well, good to know that things are normal. =) I wasn't actually expecting the peppers to be further along than they are. I know that first set of leaves takes awhile. I guess I just wanted expecting the second set to take so long (with the others), lol. I suppose I'm just antsy since I've still got a few more weeks before I can start playing in real dirt, lol.

It could be worse! :) You could be growing wild strawberries. It took them a two weeks to germinate, and its been a week without a sign of true leaves. The shoots are so small that you have to squint to see them properly. And they have to be out in the garden in two months.. hope they make it!

Your tomatoes could have been explosive if you got rid of your lights- at which point they would have turned into long spindles, which is terrible for them. Sometimes its a GOOD thing that things aren't shooting up! ;)

omg JamJam, I sowed alpine strawberries a month ago and they are still microscopic and no true leaves yet! I hope mine make it too!

Oh, I forgot to mention. I do have alpine strawberries going, lol. I kind of expected those to take forever, though. We'll see how they go. Mine have their first true leaf, though and some are working on their second. But they are TINY!
