Glucomannan is a soluble, bulk-forming fiber derived from the konjac root (Amorphophallus konjac). Clinical studies have demonstrated that Glucomannan can provide temporary relief of constipation and may help to maintain serum lipid levels already within the healthy range. In addition, because Glucomannan helps to promote satiety (feeling of fullness), it can be an effective addition to a weight management plan that includes a healthy diet and exercise program.

I think that you would have to wait for a long while from seed - far better would be to buy tubers from Plant Delights Nursery, Inc at www.plantdelights.com (Amorphophallus Konjac),
They supply quarter-sized tubers that are 3-4 years from flowering size for around $20

That's O.K gaolining, I hope that you have lots of success!
As an aside, I didn't quite "get" message #3, Baked beans and extra roughage - perhaps from whole grain bread might be a better option (oats are good too)!
Are you even the author of message #3, as it reads like an advertisment? If you are not then contact the site moderator and report this spam! (If you don't - I may).

The tubers are the easiest way to grow Amorphophallus konjac. In a short time, they can be used versus the lengthy time from seeds. And they are fun to grow. We have them from quarter size up to 18 lb. I would suggest purchasing those that are 2-3 years old for your own use. The adults have amazing 6' burgundy blooms in the middle of Winter. Getting ready for them now.
Contact me at theherbalexchange1@yahoo.com if you want to learn more about this beautiful and useful plant.

    Hope this helps--John Lentz
