lol...you crack me up...actually I'm not a true southern lady at all...I'm a So. Cal transplant :) go figure...but now, since I no longer have ties to So. Cal...I'm going to have no choice but to become a peachy kinda gal.

I found a recipe this year for kudzu jelly, made from the flowers, but by the time I got around to actually doing it, all the dang flowers were gone off the plants...they dont seem to last long...have you ever seen a kudzu flower? they are quite pretty and have a nice scent too.

Jack I think you would be better off with a variety we have here in Tennessee. It is very resistant to pigs and goats. Could I send you a pickup truck load of cuttings, would get you off to a faster start than with seed. Hope this is not TMI for you.

Since my family is from Eastern Tennessee I can speak from experience. I think it best that I forgo your offer of cuttings. You see, I happen to like the taste of both goat and pig fattened on kudzu. Especially if they don't belong to me. Sucker 'em on fresh kudzu and butcher 'em quick and sling the offeral to the 'yotes. The taste for goat I acquired SOUTH OF THE BORDER. The taste for country cured pork runs like blood in my veins. And not, BTW the weak bottomed stuff the super markets try to pass off now days. Give me that DRY, SALT CURED ham. The one with a little "bite". The kind that after you take a slice off you can just hang back up and not worry about it going bad. THey don't make much of that now days what with the ACCELERATED methods they use. It is very much like quality shine. The real thing is NOT RUN THRU A CAR RADIATOR.

I'm looking for Kudzu seeds also, I'm located in Northern Wisconsin. I hear of people eating Kudzu, is it edible? Looking for a Bunch of Kudzu seed.

You may have to ask a cow, or goat...one of the original plans for this was fodder.

But you won't find out in Kansas, it's banned there as in most states - I don't know of a responsible gardener in any climate who is attempting to grow it.
