Well, I made a use for a least some of the rocks - a rock mound/hill/whatever you want to call it. I stacked rocks with soil for a 4' x 5' structure that's around 3' high. It gently slopes on one side and will be planted with creeping thyme to "flow" down the rocks. The top is a flat opening of soil for flowers.
Now the problem will be if I decide I don't like the placement of it and want it moved to another part of the yard.

Wouldn't that be fun to move ;-). You could also plant succulants in the gaps of the stones.

Look into making "gabions" to use for erosion control or bank stabilizing.

You can even make rock fences by filling between welded wire panels with loose rock.

The flowers I wanted in the top aren't going to work. I don't even know what type they were, but the roots needed to be too deep. Looking into succulents now.

Lazygardens - I have to confess I didn't know what a gabion was. After seeing the pictures and descriptions, there's some potential there.

Where could I buy welded wire panels to fill with rocks? Are they available inexpensively?
