Caring for my papyrus indoors

I have a couple of large papyrus that I need to take inside for the winter. Should I keep them in pots of water, or just in soil and water them as "regular" houseplants? Also, how much light will they need inside? I have a fairly dark apartment, but I could provide them with a Gro-Light setup if necessary.

They need constantly wet soil but can be in a pot set into a saucer kept full not down into a bucket. They need as much light as possible. The light will likely be required.
