DON'T!!! I may as well not have used anything as it has not stopped weeds the way I thought it would, and my landscaper didn't offer any info~of course I just took for granted it *would* control the weeds. Since having this done, I've read several times on this forum that cardboard and newspapers work best and you save on othe cost of the fabric~I spent $300. My sis has also recommended using carpeting. The only drawback is you do have to cut a hole when planting.

In the meantime, I'm gradually taking the fabric up and using papers/cardboard I have in the garage. Reuse and recycle! ;o)

I didnt like the fabric either. I tried the carpet idea and would not recommend that. When you pull a weed from it sometimes the carpet unravels too and then you have to cut off the string.. Pain in the butt! I also am replacing mine with paper and cardboard as I re-mulch. I am leaving the fabric and papering over it. Live and learn I guess!!!

OGM, what an excellent idea! I thought I would have to remove the fabric, but I see your point. Thanks a bunch! This is gonna be my winter project~I'm in Texas.
