Installed a new porch this past summer: rectangular cut full-range bluestone over newly poured concrete. Bluestone was set in mortar. The stone has not been fully tuckpointed-- should it be?

Spacing varies from ~less than 1/4 inch to ~1/16 inch. If I mix/apply mortar will need very fine mix in order to be able to tuckpoint some joints. TIA for any/all replies!
