potted red-twigs?

Dear Shrub Forum,

I live in SE Massachusetts zone 6 (sometimes 5!).

I have a few red-twigs planted around the homestead. Some are in shade and in part-shade. All of them have done well; not always vigorous (shadey ones), but they have hung in there.

With the long-dreary New England fall and winter season, I have really come to appreciate the color provided by my red-twigs. Now I want to be able to move that spot of color around in pots. Last winter I did it by pruning my red-twigs and putting the prune spoils in pots.

Now to my question, can red-twig plants(Sercia and others) survive in pots?
