Ammonia, diluted by 2/3 or more makes a good slug killer. It also contains some nitrogen, and does not harm plants in the diluted form - one of the reasons it's a good non toxic slug solution - it can be spritzed on slugs already on plants.

Vinegar is sometimes used as weed killer, works best in sun but can sometimes just top kill weeds which will then come back from roots.
