What do you mean when you say "bent?" Look at the pictures in the link and tell us if that's what you're seeing.

This afternoon, I just coincidently made a seedling "bent" by stepping on it unnoticeably in my back yard. In this case, I guess it's not the same as damping off. Anyway, can I do anything to make both the seedlings that are damping off and and being stepped on survive?

Chueh, damping off is not only caused by overwatering. It's a soil borne disease that comes from soil that is not sterile. Poor air circulation and crowding of seedlings are also factors. Stepping on the seedlings isn't the same thing. :-)

As long as I use a soilless potting mix like Pro-mix or some other "seed starting mix" I don't have a problem with damping off.
