I have a small raised bed in my tiny backyard in Baltimore, MD. I recently seeded it, around the beginning of March. I had some strong looking cool season seedlings coming up nice and pretty until I encountered an issue.

My landlord had recently removed a tree in my back yard, and he cut a downspout from my roof. He didn't replace it. I noticed this downspout was perched right above my garden, and I posited to him that it may pour directly on my garden if he didn't fix it.

Long story short, huge storm. Downspout not fixed. Steady, thick stream of water just pouring from the spout directly onto the garden. So much so that it severely compacted/dented the soil. There is now a large hole in the garden. Some of my seedlings were completely demolished by the stream of water. Others barely missed it but probably experienced a good amount of flood damage.

I'd really love some help with what to do next. It's getting late in the planting season for a lot of these plants, I feel. I have not tried to transplant/trim/save any of these seeds as of yet (this happened two days ago). This is my third year gardening, and I really put my whole heart and soul into it this year. This has been an utterly disappointing setback.

What do I do to rescue the seedlings? Do I need to do anything to the soil now? Should I completely re-till?
