Cleaning up fallen cherry tree blossoms

My neighbor and I both have cherry trees on our terraces. Right now there are hundreds of petals on the pavers, with still more to come. They fall behind the planters and all over the new growth, getting stuck in evergreen needles and in mulch.

Can anyone advise me how best to clean them up? I've tried an electric leafblower but it scatters the petals. Sweeping them up is difficult because every time the wind blows they scatter. A vacuum works, but it's very time consuming, and the vacuum hose doesn't fit behind the planters.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance ;-)
