Lobelia

Bought a hanging plant at Walmart 2 weeks ago, Blue Moon and Paper Lobelia, all nice and healthy, in full bloom when we brought it home. Haven't overwatered it I don't think, have only hung it outdoor on the hook when it was 60 degrees or more(about twice). It has been in slow decline and is now a shriveled up mess, still some life but definitely needs life support. I have had similar experiences in the past with hanging Petunias. Too beautiful to pass up, 2 weeks later all but dead, some have lived, some have not. Once it is warm all the time I'm OK. How can I keep these early buys healthy?
