Rat Bedding Mulch?

I know this is going to sound silly, but... is it a bad idea to use old rat bedding (pine bedding) as mulch for my nutrient deficient tomato plants? I'm thinking rat poop would act like chicken scat and be good fertilizer while the pine bedding would make good mulch and help prevent blight. Don't know about the urine though. Anything wrong with this idea?

Sounds like a good thing to do but poo/doo is usually composted before being deployed in the garden, especially around edibles. You may get more response on the soil/mulch forum.
