Can anyone help us with a problem transplanting poppies... We recently tried to replant a number of corn poppies (Papaver rhoeas) which had seeded naturally in front of our house..

The majority withered and died despite adequate sun and watering. We had read that preserving as much of its soil around the rootball helps but even this has yielded little results.

Any tips?
