Greetings:

New to the gardening groups, but regular poster on the homesite forums.

We had some landscaping done about 7 years ago - 4 sod lawns and a few planting beds. All are edged with that synthesit/plastic flexible brown edging material that is about 6" tall/deep and an inch or so wide.

Everything was fine until a couple of years ago, when it all began to pull up - some worse than others-and some is completely up (meaning no longer insterted into the ground with just a couple of inches showing as before).

My question: what is the proper method for installing/re-installing this kind of edging so it will stay put? Do we have to dig a trench? Just hit it w a rubber mallet?? Once in place, how do we get it to stay put? I think it was originally placed with stakes (one on each side) strategically placed and hammered into the ground. Does this make any sense or is there a better way?

Thanks! Any tips would be greatly appreciated. In the future we will probably be re-doing some of our yard and using something more permanent, but for now, I would like to fix this unsightly problem.
