Help! Crazy yard man weed ate my flower bed!

Ok first of all, I have no idea how to conjugate weed eater... Did he weed eat it? Weed ate? Anyway, he took a weed eater to my perennial bed and everything is now an inch tall. I literally cried. It had my heritage daylillies, Pentas, rudbeckia, salvia, mums, whirling butterflies, oak leaf hydrangea, and coneflowers. They were so beautiful. Any suggestions on how to help them make a comeback next year? I am particularly distraught about the daylillies, as I got them from my grandmothers yard when she passed away. Oh, I live in southwest Georgia, right between zones 8-9. Any advice or tips appreciated!!!

Oh, how horrible! I would have been sick. The plants will be fine. If they had been annuals, that would have been the end, but all of the should show new growth in a week or so, maybe even less. Daylilies are tough as nails and will be JUST FINE. Really. The only one I'd worry about at all is the hydrangea, but they're tough too, and will probably regrow just fine.

That is why we do our own yard work - that happened one too many times with the landscapers, even though they had standing orders to stay out of the beds. I guess they thought I didn't mean it.
