A tip that absolutely will not fail

Here in southeast Louisiana slugs have always given us skull cramps. A friend suggested spreading Diatomacious Earth (DE) around the base of the plants being devoured by slugs, viola! No more slugs for a while. It eventually rinses away due to rain and watering.

DE is actually the skeletons of a microscopic marine animals that sinks to the bottom of the ocean where it is harvested for use a a filter media. It can be found at any swimming pool supply store. It is inexpensive and perfectly safe.

The tiny DE grain appears sorta spiny if seen through a microscope. Because of this prickly texture, it can be rough on the throat if you were to take a big breath of it.
