I used four pieces as (this is hard to describe) additional central uprights on a tuteur. ah... take four poles and stick into the ground with a pole at each corner of a square; bring/tie the pole tops together; attach crossbars (like the rungs on a ladder). That's a really basic tuteur-shape. I attached the screening to the vertical center of the crossbars so the long side ran upwards to the tuteur's top. I wanted something to encourage a baby clematis to climb upwards and the screening provided the perfect spacing.

I use that material all the time.

That screen is super handy when it comes to covering up small areas of freshly-turned soil (i.e. inbetween new plantings, over new seeds, or new bulbs) to keep the squirrels from digging.

Or, bent into a circle and wired together, it makes a handy cage for seedlings (ie tomatoes) or other delicate new plantings, also to keep the diggers from digging.

I cut strips about 18" tall and wrap it around my baby trees as a mouse/rabbit guards.

I tacked it down on the steps going to the deck. Helps when things get icy.

If you are talking about the rough equivalent of window screeening, try this tip from Mesa Garden, the succulent seed dealer: Make loops of screening to contain pots or cellpacks with seed plantings. The screening deflects hail and breaks up raindrops so that the seed bed is not compromised by being left out-of-doors.
