Worm Gear Removal

Can anyone give me help on how to remove the worm gear on a craftsman model # 536.884822 snowblower. I took apart the gear box but I can't get the worm gear off the auger shaft. Is it pressed on or what. Thanks for any help. I've got a foot of show on my driveway.
