Opinions/feedback on standby generators

This latest storm was the proverbial 'last straw' for me. I'm getting a generator! We only lost power for 24 hrs. this time and had relatives to stay with, but it was still a pain. We lost it for 4 days in the last storm. I'm looking into a natural gas powered automatic standby generator. I need to power the basics, plus a grinder pump, so I'm thinking of something in the 10-12Kw range. I also want the ability to power the AC in the Summer months, if the need arises. We live in a somewhat rural area that is more susceptible to outages year round. I have looked in to Kohler & Generac/Guardian and was wondering if anyone had advice or details they could share regarding these (or any other) brands.

Appreciate the help!
