Generator/Transfer switch question

I want to find the right transfer switch for my generator. I've got a coleman 5500 watt 6750 max (20A) generator. I'm looking at a 20A 6 circuit connecticut electric switch from home depot...descript. on this switch says for use with a 5000 watt generator. Is my generator too hot for this switch? So far the other switches I've looked at for higher watt generators are 30A. I'm assuming I need a 20A switch for my generator. Thanks, Frank

You will not hurt the transfer switch with your generator. You will likely trip a breaker if you try to load the system to the generators maximum capacity.
