COOL! I'm jealous, good job!

Have often wondered if I set my DR Trimmer on the curb if anyone would take and now you have answered my question. Wish I had done that last year at the end of trimming season. This year was rough on both of us but we made it another year. We bought the walk behind trimmer for around $1200.00 and the first month was great but then things started happening like the v-belt needed replacing,transmission belt replace, pulley trans dr, retaining ring spring ext and pulley trans. Tearing it apart was not a thrill. Finally by the end of the season the self propelled didn't work anymore and my husband wanted to trash it but I put it away for the winter. The next year things went better but still did not get the self propelled fixed as my husband by then hated working on the trimmer. In June the on and off control broke so now only fill half way with gasoline since can't shut it off. In July it locked up. So left it alone for a week and then sprayed WD 40 all over the top screen so it would run down into whatever. Let it sit for about an hour and it started up and ran. Last week of August have to dump a little alcohol around the spark plug area to get it to fire up. Have run out of strings and for fear of it breaking down completely have been using tie rods for strings and must say they do work wonderful. Can't make up my mind if this trimmer is a piece of junk or a trooper. This trimmer allowed me to cut brush and clear land that hadn't been touched in twenty years and did a great job.
Would I buy another? Think so... This time will haul it to a man that works on trimmer and tractors when it needs repair.
