Your best bet is to have your s/n off of the tiller handy when you order your parts .....(located on the side of the tiller cover stamped into the casting)....Any MTD dealer should be able to get you the parts you need...they do sell a tiller shaft kit ,that has all the parts you need to rebuild the shaft and seals .....if the tiller shaft is rusted,pitted,or has grooves ,it needs to be replaced ,the same is true for the axle shaft ....

You might be able to see the numbers on the seals and buy them from a bearing outlet. If I couldn't find gaskets, I would use "the Right Stuff" gasket maker. I had an endless supply of valve cover leaks on my old V-8 and I used this stuff in place of the cork gaskets and never had a leak again.

Any mower shop will be able to order your parts. If not, go to dixiesales.com, and tell them the mower shops were of
no help, and they will sell to you retail and ship them to you.
Make sure your wheels will come off before you order, and
also make sure the wheel and tine shafts are not worn out
before you order. Just take the weight off of them and see
if there is any up and down play/slop. If they are wore
out, just replacing seals would be a short term fix. The
tiller is worth fixing up right.

Thanks for the assistance, everyone. Mail order is about my only option as I live in urban Southern California. Few people know what a tiller is anymore, as there's practically no land left to till. Thus, nobody carries Troybilt parts to speak of anywhere near my area.
