Maybe you have those lights at the bottom sides of the door to make the door go up if someone tries to walk under the door when it's closing. The sunlight could be tricking the sensors to indicate someone walking past them.

tape a piece of carboard to shield the lens from direct sunlight and see what happen.

I've heard the cardboard tube inside a roll of toilet tissue will work for this problem.

Reverse them, put the sender where the reciver is and reciever where the sender is.
