Hmm, don't know about product line but Briggs has an engine model line by the name Vanguard.

What nevada_walrus said. The engine is probably a Vanguard. The chipper model is probably located somewhere on the frame. The link below will help on specs for Vanguard Briggs and Stratton.

I also have a Vann Guard log splitter. Do you know what kind of hydraulic pump it has on it? Mine seems to need repair, and I can't find any numbers on the pump.

I would like to find A seal kit for My Vanguard hydraulic cylinder. Yes Briggs and Stratton Makes a

Vanguard motor but that's not the same thing as a hydraulic cylinder for a wood splitter.

I went to a local hydraulic cylinder Repair Shop x my Hydraulic Cylinder needed Rebuilding. They did a good Job, but I was back just over a Year's Warranty. They wanted to share where I could just get a Seal Kit and rebuild the Cylinder myself. I wanted their Experience Again and Realized Possibly what caused the premature Failure.

I felt my lack of guides on my Donated "Home Assembled Splitter" d/n guide the Piston to "Push Straight" (vs play Off Center Causing Premature wear). With guides I Added I have not needed another repair or noticed a loss of fluid in years.
