I have one and would not buy another. It will not drill into any soil that is even a little bit hard.

I think that their ads showing miraculous turning of soil must have been taken in freshly tilled dirt.

Long shank 2 inch auger for drill works for me planting garden plants tomato's pepper ect. I was going to use battery power drill but did not work well so I need electric no chuck for other thing works well on auger but for one gallon plants I use hoedigger T handle twist type. With my 2 inch auger last year I planted 432 tomatoe plants and never bend over used plug plants drop down 2 1/2 inch pvc pipe about 3 feet long had to water thim make heavy so go down pipe large plant want work this way. If get drill auger stop drill at bottom of hole lift out all dirt should come out leaving nice hole. I also spray with pressure washer it don't take as long lol.

May be a little too heavy for a woman but i always use posthole diggers for planting.

An auger 2-3" diameter works well with a SERIOUS drill - Milwaukee Hole Hawg. Weighs 12 pounds, so it's NOT light.

For one-gallon plants and the like - a posthole digger if the soil is soft; a rock bar if it's not.

The pressure washer is a great tool for this as well. I have a hose-powered version that works off water pressure. Even just a nozzle on a water hose would soften up the dirt fairly well.
