How did you safely add air to the can of paint? I can just picture the can exploding while you are holding it. That would be a real bummer. I had some new cans that never did spray at all. I just took them back to Home Depot and they replaced them. The thought of trying to add compressed air never crossed my mind.

Charles you adjust the regulator to 20 psi pull the spray nozzle off find you a rubber hose such as a vacuum hose push it on to the can nozzle housing using an blow off air tool push the hose onto the nozzle, hole the hose and push the buttom one or two seconds. repeat this till enough pressure to spray if the can is out of air.

The can had air the paint can nozzles I used were old from last year and I forgot to turn the can upside down and spray to clean them. the carb cleaner nozzle metered hole is atleast twice as big as the paint nozzle. So the paint comes out atleast twice as much. Better you took them back if they were new and you had the reciepe.

If you don't feel confrontable adding air then don't do it. But, I bet if you find you a clean nozzle the can will spray. I just like the fact that the carb cleaner nozzle laid down a nice thick coat and didn't take 15 or 20 mins doing it.

Darn it never crossed my mind to take back a case of paint cans (never opened) to Lowes after I had left them sit for 5 years, all were defective tops, I figured just age did it ?
