Aphids almost gone

. . . and I didn't do anything but wipe off (once or twice) the stems that were totally sleeved in bugs. That isn't what controlled them, but it may have spared some minor leaf damage. Every year, they just go away except for some stragglers.

No roses in full bloom yet, but despite the two-week aphid blitz, almost everything looks wonderful. Less winter damage and canker than usual and no freeze in March to kill the new growth. I've had a sprinkling of roses for two weeks, although chilly weather has slowed what looked like a super-early rose season.
