Tecumseh sells a special cut away flywheel, or you can use an old one and cut it on a jigsaw. Set the gap, and then replace with good flywheel.

No other way that I am aware of.

Are they adjustable? One must be very careful on re-installing the plate so it is in the exact same position. Ideally it should be retimed. Your kill wire isn't grounded is it?

The 1st reply was absolutely correct.You should've left the armature bolted down.A light sanding was all it needed.I learned the hard way too along time ago.Tecumsehs can be a pain in the butt.If you were to take it in to a small engine repair shop they could set it for you while you have it apart.It would'nt take them more than a couple minutes.Any place worth their salt would do it for free.
Be sure the flywheel key is undamaged also.

Does anybody know where I can get a wiring diaghram, my book isnt clear on this. I'm sure I hooked it up the same as the old on.

If memory serves, 2 wires connect to the post coming out of the armature box. 1 for the condensor, 1 goes to your grounding mechanism(kill switch).
Lonewolf's link will help you set the timing properly. I understand there may be an armature air gap issue, with experience I have never run into that issue.

You have not changed the airgap, BUT you have changed the timing,if the timing is off the spark is weaker or no spark,you need to reset the timing....you need a continuiity tester/buzz box and a dial caliper and a manual with timing specs .....and a pile of patience ....Good Luck Jim

Here is a update. I actually put the old condenser & coil back on, I let the new points on. And believe it or not it started right up. I guess the old saying if it isnt broke dont fix it.

Hi, I also have no spark on my HH60 (Troybuilt tiller). Had mouse nest under recoil cover. I'm thinking they did something. Anyway can someone tell me how to get the flywheel off. Thanks

I use a large 3 jaw puller. I'm sure this isn't the proper tool but it works if you are carefull. You just have to slide the jaws around till you can get them to grab enough. Just don't torq it too much, tapping the end of the crank as you tighten normally breaks it loose.

What would be more proper than a puller?

My Tecumseh manual shows a Flywheel puller part No. 670306.
It looks alot like a steering wheel puller. You would have to check at your local Tecumseh dealer about ordering one.
