50:1 will work just fine. The Echo oil is excellent. Heavier mix may cause carbon buildup and hard starting.That is a sweet trimmer, good choice.

You might as well use the recommended ratio: it pollutes less, works fine, doesn't cost as much.
You'll like the SRM 210 trimmer. I have the SRM 230 and use it a lot, both for weeds and for brush cutting. Very tough machine. Use ear protection 'cause it's loud.

Fired it up....seems like a really good machine. Haven't quite got the hang of releasing extra line with the bump head though. Does the head have to be spinning fast and then you just bump it or do you kind of hold it to the ground while spinning? Also, do you let the knife cut off a decent hunk or do you release enough line just until you hear it touch?

I'm considering buying the SRM-210. I'm wondering if anyone has used this with the brush cutter kit. I would need to cut through some blueberry once or twice a year, nothing much more than 3/4". Is this machine powerfull enough to accomplish this task? The rest of the time I would be using it as a standard line trimmer. Due to budget constraints I can't afford the power head option.

Do not go more than 40:1. People actually tested and seem like temperature goes up if going to 32:1. Temperature is not a friend of an engine!!!! This is on top of more carbon buildup.

I used to concern with too little oil, after doing all the research, don't worry about it. I have to confess I do put between 45:1 to 40:1,( measure to 45:1 but my hand always twitch and a few more drops goes in!!!) but no more. Echo Power Blend is JASO FD. It is synthetic blend, very good oil.

Yeah, I've got the same one and I really like mine. I usually get it started for a bit then rev it up for a second and pop the head...generally enough comes out to snip a little piece off, but if not you'll have enough to trim with. You're off to the races then.

I have a 3 yr old SRM-210 used only at home, not professionally. I HATE this thing. I think it is poorly balanced and hard to control. I've been using a neighbor's RedMax TR2300 and it is lighter and more fun to use. Easier to control. I have the Echo for sale and will buy my own RedMax ASAP.
