Nothing wrong. That's the way it's supposed to work. I don't know if Troy built even makes a counter rotating tiller, all three I've owned rotated forward.

They are made both ways when I bought mine I got a discount as somebody in a differnt area had returned it I was told they counterrotating tines didn't work well in there sandy soil so they ordered a regular one
