I'm not a soils expert - I just know my own :)

But the PH shouldn't surprise you, the lime was in the mushroom compost which is alkaline to support the growing of mushrooms. It can also be high in phosphate, potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron.

Was the blend too heavy with the compost ratio to top soil for the plants you are growing? You don't say if you had it tested because you are finding symptoms with your plants....

For some reason I was under the impression that the mushroom soil was acidic. Guess this is why I was surprised. I did the soil test for two reasons. First was to find out about the ph. Second was that last year my garden just did not seem like it was taking off. It was a first year garden though and it does seem much better this year.

The place that I bought it from mixed the soil and mushroom compost. Not sure of the ratio they used. I am going to call the extension tomorrow to get their take on the results. If there is no harm in having these thing above optimum then no worries. If there is I guess all I can do is scratch my head for buying the stuff. I am pleased with this years plants though. Hopefully over time the numbers will drop.

You live in the land of acid rain and your native soil is probably acidic, too. I expect the pH of this soil will drop relatively quickly. As for the high numbers for some of the elements, I don't know enough to comment, but (if it were my soil) I'm pretty sure I wouldn't sweat the calcium.
